HISTORY

This place I visited earlier last year for a pre investigation. These woods situated away from civilisation. The woods contain many ruins forming a village. Stories say that one day all the villagers disappeared without a trace in the early 1900's.

Accounts during the day have been people walking into time locks. seeing the village as it was. Uncomfortle feelings like you are being watched. A humming noise has been noted without any source coming from the woods.

INVESTIGATION

I arrived at Colan Woods just before 20.00. The weather was clear and humid.

I noticed when I arrived that the carpark was busy with courting couples! I then noticed as I made my way down the long muddy track that some of these couples had made there way into the beginning of the woods.

I carried on and luckily after a few more minutes walk the woods became quiet and I was on my own.

I decided to start at the furthest ruin. I set up my K-2 meter and voice recorder and started filming. After aprox 10mins I started to hear the sheep in the distance calling one another and then the noise i was hearing changed it made me jump to my feet!

The droning that had reportidly had been heard was now apparent. I composed myself and then started thinking scientifically.

It then came apparent that this noise was a freak mix of the sheep in the distance and a aeroplane passing over probably coming into Newquay airport. It lasted for about 1 minute.

This I believe to be the strange noise reverberating from the woods. The acoustic range of the woods made this sound appear to be coming from all directions.

I then spent what was the shortest investigation to date exploring all of the ruins carrying out EVP tests and EMF checks with no results.

I left after 1hr 20mins. I was happy there was no paranormal activity.

CONCLUSION

I was very sceptical of the reports that are associated with this location. After a couple of pre investigation visits with my family there was no vibe although some areas was however spooky even during the day.

I was glad to find the source of the droning noise reported which had make people flee the woods.

I picked up no EMF readings and nothing out of the ordinary on the footage.

EVP tests had no results.

I also discovered on my walk around the woods a makeshift tent etc which looked like someone had set up home in the woods. They did not seem to be scared off.

I have to say that I do not think the woods to be active in anyway. I know I could not find any normal reason for the time locks which had been reported. I believe these to be myths which have been made up over the years.

Is Colan woods Haunted my opinion is no.

PENGERSICK CASTLE

HISTORY

Many people have claimed to have encountered some of the 20 odd ghosts said to be here. Many have seen or photographed strange orbs of light. Electrical malfunctions are common place. There are massive temperature drops. Ghosts include. A 14th century monk, a 13 year old girl who danced to her death off the battlements, a 4 year old boy who tugs at ladies dresses, the re-enactment of a medieval murder, a woman seen walking through a wall and pacing the room, a woman stabbed to death in the castle, a man stabbed and strangled in 1546 in front of a fireplace. I now return for the third time to once and for all find the answers to the spirits that reside at the castle.

INVESTIGATION

I met up with Jay at the castle at 20.30. The weather was quite chilly overcast with scattered showers.

I started off by setting up a camera in each room which i left recording throughout the investigation.

The castle felt quite charged that night we were  both looking forward to some activity.

We decided to start up on the roof doing various k-2 tests and voice recording and filming

Within a minute the door leading to the roof shut by itself. We both new it was due to the windy conditions but what did make ourselves doubt ourselves was I asked out for the door to open right up against the wall which it did straight away. It then closed without prompt pure fluke.

The K-2 meter did however went off buy itself just the once however it went starght to read which is very high.

We then moved down the diffrent levels doing EVP tests through the Audacity system on my laptop. These tests did not come up with any results. By the time we started our vidgil in the guardroom it was just past the witching hour.

We once again carried out an EVP test with Jay taking lots of pictures.

We were sat in the room only 10 mins when we heard random bangs coming from the staircase and the solar room above.At first we put these sounds down to the open fire cutting throuh the logs. However when we both heard what sounded like a dragging sound moving from one side of the Solar room to the other we started to pay more attention. I started to ask for a response. First i asked for 2 knocks we both heard 2 light knocks coming from the staircase. I repeated the process and once again we had the reply but this time from the Solar room. All went quiet for a few mins and then it started again. I then called out and asked for 3 knocks. This time we had 3 very clear knocks coming from the Solar room. We carried on calling out but did not get ant further responses.

We decided to move up to the Solar room. K-2 meter, voice recorder and 2 camcorders plus Jays camera was focused in evry corner of the room.

All was quiet for about 10 mins and then we heard knocking at various times coming from the room above and then once again we heard the dragging sound. It sounded like someone was dragging a large sack of spuds. I went up to investigate to find nothing and the noise had stopped. We then carried on the Vigil until 02.00 when we decided to call it a night.

CONCLUSION

After going through hours of footage and voice recordings i could not find any conclusive evidence of any paranormal activity.

I did however find some footage which you can hear some of the bangs we heard but not all. The dragging noise was not picked up on any of the cameras.

I do believe something was trying to communicate with us. what was apparent that whoever whatever it was would not come into our area to do so always keeping a good distance from us.

I will still have to say Pengersick is haunted and future investigations may build more evidence. No doubt I will return again.

I forgot to add that I did however leave a voice rcorder recording in the castle after we had left.

Results will follow once Jay has returned it to me.
