Saturday 11th August 2007

On the above date at 22.00 we met at the Stag and Hounds public house.

We split into 2 groups. The group I was in went down to the Cellar. All was quiet at first then a transmedium within the group contacted a woman that supposedly used to live there. As with all investigations, the details which come out from these supposed contacts with the dead are not displayed.

Whilst this was occuring, I took myself into a side room with 2 members of the team. What a great decision this proved to be! From the second we entered the room activity started. First, felt by one member of the team, were headaches and giddyness, then sightings of Orbs galore, I mean loads of them! I then asked whoever was in the room to touch one of us. At that moment I felt something stroke my face!! We then left the Cellar for our next investigation.

The next investigation was in the Conference Room/corridor.

This was much quieter, even though I caught a flashy Orb coming out of the fireplace. The transmedium also contacted a man who used to visit the building.

We then had a break and we all separated and went into areas that we thought we might get activity. Myself and two other members made our way to a corridor near the toilets.

The atmosphere was very strange - it made us feel very angry and uncomfortable.The more we challenged what ever was in the room the more Orbs we caught on camera. Then one of the team noticed something walk past one of the shut doors. We gave chase and I ran into one toilet whilst the other member ran into the other. There was no-one there. As we were discussing what he had seen, we felt something in the ladies toilets with us. I asked that if someone was in the room with us to do something. That, a set of lights above the sinks came on. This could have been a electrical fault but it was very strange all the same.

After waiting for a while all went quiet. The Investigation was then over. A really great night with some very unexplained activity. I will be back a.s.a.p., but this time on my own!

Tuesday 18th September 2007

Equipment used: Wireless Nightvision Cameras, Camcorder, Digital Camera.

I had decided to spend a few hours after work at the Stag and Hounds Public House. I had made this decision after the earlier investigation with the BSPRI, where there was some strange activity.

I had set up my wireless cameras in the Cellar. The stairs to the Cellar had one camera covering the area. The small room, in which a lot of activity had occured on an earlier investigation, also had a camera positioned. The main Barrel room and corridor leading to the Barrel room from the stairs also had cameras positioned. The cameraswere then set to motion detection. The Cellar was then locked off.

I then made my way upstairs. The first room I visited was the Conference Room. There was no activity.

Next was the corridor in between the Conference Room and the toilets. Once again, there was no activity but I did get some possible pictures of Orbs.

I then made my way to the staircase which leads to the top floor. was a very strange atmosphere here. It felt like I was being watched. Nothing was caught on the Camcorder but I did get a couple of really good Orb shots (see photo gallery).

I then made my way downstairs to the Cellar. I sat for half an hour down here with no activity at all.

What a dissappointing night after the earlier investigation with the bspri when so much occured.

This first ever Ghost Hunt conducted at the Castle, and to be the first of a select few to go on the first tour was even better.

To be honest there was not much chance of capturing many ghostly pictures as there were over 500 people at the Castle that night.

I did capture one strange picture -  have a look in the photo gallery.This was in the Great Hall.

I also had an odd experience in the Morning Room. I had walked in front of the tour guide into the room first. As I turned around to face the guide something poked me in the back of the head. I spun around to find nothing there!

This turned out to be a very well run and enjoyable night. It was particularly great to meet Charles Berkeley and Richard Felix.

Sunday 7th October 2007

This Public House, situated in the Somerset village of Stanton Drew, was the scene for my next investigation. It is situated next to one of the stone circles that are found in Stanton drew. Even the pub garden contains 3 stones! There are also many ley lines crossing this area, which link to Stonehenge.

This investigation took place after an earlier meeting with the lLndlord of the Druid Arms to discuss the supposed paranormal activity within the pub. Sightings of a woman sat in the the bar, and also in the ladies toilet, have been reported. Also, the Landlord's dog will not enter the lounge. 

After the pub closed for the evening, I set up my CCTV system around the Bar area, the Lounge and the Darts room. I set up a locked-off camcorder in the Ladies toilet.

I then, with the company of the Landlord, Neil, sat down for the night. The atmosphere was very pleasant and extremely quiet.

I monitored the CCTV with no movement. At various intervals, I took various pictures with a couple of possible Orb shots (please take a look in the gallery).

At 01.00 hours I thought I saw movement in the Lounge doorway. I quickly checked the footage with no results. Tired eyes I guess!

We then heard a couple of knocks come from the fireplace. I took an EMF meter reading and a tempature reading: nothing strange to report with either.

After an hour, all was quiet. I decided to stop the investigation as we were both tired.

The next day I checked all the footage. First the CCTV: no activity. I then reviewed the footage from the locked-off camera. I was pleasantly suprised. There were three recorded events of Orbs, one of a flashy Orb (always great to see!). Also, I had captured a very strange object moving past the corner of the screen - unfortunately, I can't make out what it is.

At various intervals, the sound of footsteps in the area of the Ladies toilets was picked up by the Camcorder. This was very strange as it was only myself and the Landlord in the downstairs area and we were nowhere near the toilets!

After my success with this activity captured, I am re-investigating the pub.

Sunday 14th October 2007

This was my second investigation in a week and I couldn't wait! After viewing the previous investigation's footage I had to return.

I had caught Orbs in the Ladies toilet and also the sound of something walking about on the previous investigation.

I turned up just before the pub closed.The Landlord told me that a picture had flown off the wall in the Lounge in front of six visitors and had smashed.

Once the pub had shut I set up my CCTV system in the Ladies toilet and the Darts room. In the Lounge, I set up my Camcorder on a tripod and locked-off the room. I settled my self in front of the monitor and waited.

At about 12.40 I heard someone walk near me - I switched  my torch on and looked round. Nothing! I nervously sat down and at about 01.30 two knocks came from the fireplace. I immediatley checked inside the chimney for birds etc. Again, nothing!

The rest of the night passed quietly. I was slightly saddened as I had expected so much.

Conclusion

After checking through the footage of the second investigation, I found 3 accounts of Orbs in Lounge on video. There were no Orbs caught in the Ladies toilet this time. No movement was recorded either. I was also positioned right near the toilet door in the Darts room so if anything was walking around I would have heard it.

With two investigations carried out at The Druid Arms, Stanton Drew, I believe that there is definately something strange going on there. As to whether or not it is paranormal, I'm still unsure.

The footsteps I caught on the Camcorder footage remain unexplained. There were beam barrier alarms on the only way in to the toilets and they were not tripped-off. The strange lights that look most definitley like Orbs, I can't explain. I will leave you to decide!
