HISTORY

I had been contacted by Carla from The Polar Bear about this location. There had been various sightings of a lady. An atmosphere in the cellar and also one member of staff had heard someone calling her name when no knowone was there.

INVESTIGATION

The investigation started around 23.30. I was joined by the landlady Lorraine. Carla from The Polar Bear and Marion a staff member.

The investigation lasted until 03.30.

I had the Cctv system in the Cellar, Skittle Alley and the Ladys toilet.

All these areas were noted to have activity.

At various times a voice recorder was moved around these areas. Also the camcorder was used when carrying out various communication tactics.

There was no real noteable activity apart from a glass comunication experiment in the bar area which seemed to contact someone called Brian a regular who had died. I believe this was not the case due to the movement and feel of glass experiment and I swiftly stopped the vigil.

There was one brief moment of excitement a Hand drier which had been reported to go on by itself in the Ladys toilet decided to start by itself. At first I was asking questions and the drier was switching on in response. Then I noticed the drier was very Irratic and realised there was a very bad fault with it and switched it off from the mains. 

I did get some strange noises at first on the voice recorder in the ladys toilet but on review I realised it too be a police helicopter outside.

CONCLUSION

My gut instinct when I arrived told me that I had a strong incling this place was not haunted. After many investigations you pickup a sixth sense.

I was proved right. There was no activity that would make believe otherwise. I reviewed all pictures and footage with no results.

Im sorry to say from my opinion I really dont think there is any paranormal activity going on.

THE JAMAICA INN INVESTIGATION 1 OF 2

HISTORY

Never have I been so excited to carry out an investigation before as much as this location. An investigators dream. After visiting the inn during the day my partner got chatting to the manager and before I knew it he had agreed to me carrying out an investigation.

I do not need to discuss all the sightings as any good ghost hunter knows all the stories about the footsteps heard and the sightings in and outside the inn.

INVESTIGATION

The investigation will be split into 2 parts. The first part will be located in the Museum and the second part will be situated outside the building on the old cobbled road once the Inn has closed.

MUSEUM

After carrying out a EMF test throughout the musuem with no abnormal readings I began the investigation.

I carried out 2 EVP experiments in diffrent areas of the musuem. I also tried K-2 contact with no results. I then filmed in various spots throughout the evening trying to make contact and too capture some activity. On reviewing all of the footage and voice recordings I captured no activity. I did however get some great Orb pictures. Please have a look in photo gallery. To be honest I felt no activity in the musuem.

FRONT OF THE INN

After waiting for the inn to shut I positioned the car facing down the old cobbled road in front of the inn. This is where a ghostly figure of a man has been seen and also the sound of horses pulling up.

The weather was bad. High winds and extreme rain made filming difficult. I positioned the Night vision minoculars on my dashboard and began recording. I left the window open too listen out. After sitting out for almost 3 hours I called it a night. On looking through footage there was no activity recorded.

CONCLUSION

After my first investigation at The Jamaica Inn I was very dissappointed no activity at all. So as of this moment I have to state that I have no evidence to prove that there is any paranormal activity. Hopefully on my second visit in a few weeks things will change

BRADDOCK DOWN

LOST WITHIEL, CORNWALL

HISTORY

The site of a Cromwellian defeat, the anniversary of which is marked by
phantom hoof falls. This area is well known in the local area for being haunted. A recent posting I found on a Cornish website from a unknown local stated they witnessed a group of what he believed to be soldiers on horseback fighting. He heard the sounds of battle also. After speaking to a local after a pre visit to the sight he told me that a local gas company attempted to lay piping through the field but had to stop as they started to unearth swords etc.

INVESTIGATION

I left work at 21.00. The car was already packed with my equipment as my work base was about 20mins away. Big problem the rain was thumping down and the wind was steadily getting stronger not a good start.

I arrived later than planned due to the driving conditions.

After wadding through the muddy field for almost 30mins trying to set up a tent which supposed to take 30 seconds and setting up my equipment it was almost 10.30. I noticed a sound like wailing not too far from me. It had to be loud as the sound of the rain beating against the tent was deafing. I poked my head out of the tent and realised the sound was coming from the electricity pilon next to me. The window rushing through the glass rings. This could explain some reports of battle noise.

The night passed without events. I gave up at 3.30 it was cold very cold.

CONCLUSION

After looking through the footage the next day I also had another theory. I thought I had caught a figure like shape on my Night Vision Minocular after many repeated viewing I realised that a car quite some way away full beams had reflected on a tree which gave the effect/illusion that a figure was stood in front of me.

I think I have debunked most of the witness accounts.

Do I think its haunted."NO". I think folklore and a reason to believe has made this story bigger than what it is.
